Social Media Terminology Blunders 101 — How many of you agree that many Entrepreneurs still use the term ‘my Personal page’ and my ‘Business Page’ hence creating a lot of confusion among their audience and network.

In my view, it is very important that as an Entrepreneur we understand that it is a ‘Personal Profile’ and a ‘Business Page’ and terminology is not at all difficult to understand, remember or use but many of us as Entrepreneur just do not value the Branding/Terminology of our Social Media as much as we should.

I believe, this makes us look Social Media Illiterate, Incompetent in using our own branding right and undermines our value as an entrepreneur. I specially find it peculiar when people title themselves as ‘Business Coach’ or ‘Leadership Expert’ yet do not make the effort to learn, understand and use the right terminology.

I understand for many it is still a new medium of business or they have seen Facebook go through a few changes over the years. But as Entrepreneurs it is very important for us to know and use the right term. Otherwise we risk reducing our own value and standing as an ‘Expert’ or ‘Leader’ for failing to know the very basics of the medium we are using.

How do you feel about this?

Do you make this mistake or have been making it until reading this?

Would you rather someone point this out to you and correct you or would you be offended?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and of course I am more than happy to educate, guide and support each other where we can!

Tag a friend who needs to read this.

Tag yourself if you are brave enough to admit you did this but will now make sure you do your Social Media terminology right because you value how you are seen in your profession.

Tag my mommy if you are totally annoyed by this post!
